OGMP 2.0 2026 Report: From measurement to mitigation, better methane data is enabling action

OGMP 2.0 Report 2026 Cover

The 2026 Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 report shows how better methane data is enabling action across the oil and gas sector. In its sixth year, OGMP 2.0 has grown to 163 companies operating in 90 countries, covering 43 per cent of global oil and gas production, with 69 per cent of reported emissions now based on measurement-based data.

As companies advance towards the highest levels of reporting, better data provides a clearer picture of where emissions occur and helps operators identify and prioritise the largest and most effective opportunities for mitigation. Assets representing more than 16 per cent of global oil and gas production are now reporting at Level 5, more than double last year’s share, while member companies demonstrate how measurement can lead to emissions reductions through operational improvements, equipment upgrades and targeted repairs.

The report presents the latest progress across the partnership, including company performance, Level 5 reporting and methane mitigation. Explore the 2026 OGMP 2.0 Annual Report and the accompanying company factsheets for the latest insights into methane performance across the sector, and detailed information on individual members’ reporting progress and performance.
